Who said you can’t talk (and think) about wine on a weekday? Here’s me sharing a new wine I tasted over the weekend – the Casa Bottega Merlot from the Trevenezie IGT zone in Italy.

Have you ever come across a bottle of Italian Merlot? Not surprising that it is often overshadowed by the popular, big Italian native grape varieties, but it does get its moment in the sun, now that many Italian winemakers are producing quality Merlots – Low yields, concentrated flavours, rich textures, and Merlots signature lush, velvetiness. Through its simplicity and above its price point – the Bottega Merlot excels.
