As a sommelier, launching a wine for a brand requires a level of meticulous planning and organisation unlike any other. Devising the theme, managing the invite list, curating the flow, food and wine, coordinating marketing collaterals, and finally hosting the D-day by showcasing a preview of the wine to be launched and engaging with the guests to discuss everything about it.
Wine connoisseurs and members of the wine-trade were brought together for the launch of the 2021 vintage of the KRSMA Sauvignon Blanc in Bangalore and Goa, where Sommelier Devati and their winemaker, Aniruddha Rajagopalan, took them through the intricacies of the wine that set it apart from previous vintages. The ‘sundowner’, or ‘wine-downer’ as we called it, was a big hit amongst the guests, with an eclectic selection of seafood grazing platters accompanied by many engaging wine-conversations.
